We rewarded Alyson Miller, from New York University, for her honesty and self-reflection. Do you give feedback at your organization? How?
Maybe you should – see how thankful Alyson was even from critical feedback: “I have a great team who complements each other well. I tend to be faster but sloppier, and one of my coworkers recently pointed this out to me – I make a good rough draft, but rarely have the patience for the polish. It was really impactful for two reasons: 1. totally valid assessment that I had never thought of, and: 2. It was amazing that this particular coworker felt comfortable enough to share this feedback with me – we have a strong working relationship, but he can be timider when it comes to constructive criticism, so it was amazing that he gave me such helpful feedback.”
